Santa Clara Addition & JADU Garage Conversion

This Santa Clara project expands an existing single-story home with a 772 sq. ft. addition while converting the existing 490 sq. ft. garage into a JADU. The new layout adds bedrooms, bathrooms, flexible living space, and a dedicated office while improving how the home functions for the owners. The project also includes updated building systems and a replacement backyard pergola.

Project Challenges

The challenge was to significantly increase usable living space while integrating a separate JADU into the existing 1956 home. The design also needed to work within the existing property layout and utility easement constraints.

Full Scope of Work

  • 772 sq. ft. residential addition with new bedrooms and bathrooms

  • 490 sq. ft. garage conversion to a JADU

  • Interior reconfiguration including a new home office

  • New electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, fixtures, and replacement pergola

Our Design Solutions

We developed an addition that expands the main residence with new living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and a home office while converting the garage into a functional JADU. The new work was designed to complement the existing home while creating a more flexible layout for everyday living.
